What is BioFuse Oil Matrix™ and how does it work?
BioFuse™ Oil Matrix is our advanced botanical blend which helps disrupt harmful oral microbiome while leaving the good stuff untouched. Formulated alongside clinical researchers, this botanical blend selectively targets cavity and periodontal disease-causing bacteria, S. mutans and P. gingivalis, and physically destroys the integrity of their cell walls (imagine poking holes in a water-balloon), effectively killing them.
Why doesn't Zero Pro Toothpaste foam up and why does it feel so watery when I'm brushing?
It might feel strange, but these are good things! Zero Pro is made without chemical foaming agents, like SLS, which are commonly found in toothpastes (and soaps & shampoos). You might associate foam with cleaning power, but it doesn't actually provide the boost you think it does. As well, the combination of BioFuse™ Oil Matrix and Xylitol promote more saliva flow. This has dual benefits of spreading the active ingredients (like a mouthwash), and helping balance the pH of your mouth. It may take some getting used to, but trust us, the results are worth it.
What makes nano-hydroxyapatite different from fluoride?
Nano-hydroxyapatite (nHAp) is a biocompatible mineral that's identical to what your teeth are naturally made of. Originally developed by NASA to help astronauts with bone density loss, it works to directly rebuild tooth enamel, whereas fluoride just helps your teeth absorb more minerals. At a concentration of 10% (which Zero Pro has), nHAp has been shown to be just as effective as fluoride in preventing cavities while reducing sensitivity.
Why 10% nano-hydroxyapatite—does the concentration matter?
Research indicates that a 10% concentration, nano-sized hydroxyapatite effectively penetrates enamel tubules and promotes remineralization. Lower concentrations may not provide sufficient coverage of tooth surfaces, while higher concentrations don't show additional benefits. Many brands claim to have nano-hydroxyapatite in their toothpaste without ever disclosing the concentration, which is often 3X lower than the recommended dose.
How does nano-hydroxyapatite compare to regular hydroxyapatite?
The nano-sized particles in Zero Pro are significantly smaller than non-nano hydroxyapatite particles. This smaller size allows them to penetrate deeper into microscopic enamel structures and dentinal tubules, providing better coverage and more effective remineralization.
